Эксперт позволил использование ZKP в основной сети Ethereum

Salus Security co-founder Mirror Tang and his colleagues have conducted research on the applicability of zero-knowledge proofs (ZKP) for privacy functions in the Ethereum mainnet. The study explores the use of ZK-SNARKs in ensuring confidential transactions using the Solidity programming language. According to Tang, implementing this solution at a basic level could eliminate the need for Layer 2 networks. As a result, transactional activity would be concentrated in the main network rather than scattered across various L2 ecosystems. The document also addresses technical barriers to integrating ZK-SNARKs into Ethereum. For instance, Solidity currently processes one transaction at a time, necessitating the discovery of multi-threading solutions. Furthermore, it will be necessary to facilitate solution audits to ensure its security. ZK-SNARKs rely on verifiers who send precise proofs to external auditors without disclosing information, which places additional storage requirements during verification. Tang believes that, without these barriers, integrating the solution into Solidity could enhance confidentiality and resistance to MEV, enabling private transactions and voting for existing Ethereum projects. He emphasized that accelerated verification tracking would boost overall blockchain performance. Should the research continue, the authors plan to disclose the source code. Tang hopes that the initiative will attract interest from the community and venture companies. In other news, the Iron Fish platform launched its Layer 1 blockchain mainnet after two years of development. The network utilizes the Proof-of-Work consensus mechanism and zk-SNARK technology.
